Forged in Flame

Share

They shaped my soul with fire and grace,
With steady hands and quiet face,
They carved a strength I couldn’t see—
A silent storm inside of me.

Through storms and scars, they stood so tall,
They caught my steps each time I’d fall.
They taught me life’s relentless art—
To carry steel inside the heart.

But now their voices fade away,
No more to guide, no more to stay.
The world feels cold, the nights too long,
And I—once fierce—no longer strong.

A whisper came, so dark, so near,
“Let go of life, they’re waiting here.”
But then my heart, it roared with light,
“Will pain they bore be lost in flight?”

Did they not bleed to build this flame?
Did they not rise to give me name?
And shall I fall and lose it all—
Just to escape a single fall?

I clenched my will, I fought the ache,
I chose to bend, but never break.
I’ll walk the path they lit with pride,
With ghosts of fire at my side.

And when I reach that distant shore,
Where time and tears will be no more,
They’ll see the fire they once began—
Now blazing in their very own man.

With smiling eyes, they’ll hold me near,
Their silence gone, their voices clear.
They’ll say, “You lived. You bore the test.”
And I will fold into their chest.
